Heat Came

I feel like writing something other than food tasting or the fashion shows and launching events. I feel like expressing my feelings in here, out loud but here I am, typing away for a good two minutes or so, rambling on and on with no solid point.

Writer’s block.

Work wise, yea I’m obviously more independent now, thanks to my colleague who left for job attachment for one good year. I’m not complaining. In fact, I felt somewhat appreciative because I’m learning a lot, although still blur but less already.

I went through a series of embarrassing events simply because I didn’t know how to explain myself well. It’s like, I requested for A but the way I put it sounds as though the thing I requested was ridiculous. Those kinda stuff. Need to work on that.

I’ll be away for almost the entire month of November for my bro’s convo (and also to steal this opportunity to tour Europe). No work load (yes!) but I now have LOADS to prepare so that whoever’s backing me up would know how to take over my role for two weeks plus.

Budget for quality souvenirs have been allocated only to those whom I owed tonnes, and the majority are my colleagues. Only 7 names. Sorry la I’m broke. This Euro trip almost killed me :(

Have to save some to get some designer stuff for myself also.

When it comes to social life, I’m sure those who knew me before and after I get myself involved in this would have noticed the late nights (from FB pictures) and my different wardrobe of late. I started attending events and all when I moved to PJ, very much thanks to Timmo. I won’t deny I felt very much out of place in the first few events I attended and the turning point was the Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Party in August whereby I met a lot of people and even appeared in The Star papers (I don’t look nice in it though) despite me feeling exactly like shit (I was unwell. Popped two panadols and off I went).

Then I joined a group of bloggers deemed Malaysia’s Hottest Bloggers, created by Timmo. He’s our babysitter. Since then I’ve been pretty occupied going for food tasting and launches and grand openings and the list goes on and on.

And my favourite photographer made me his brand ambassador. Very, very flattering. I still couldn’t understand why I was chosen but I’m not complaining :)

Personal life. What is there to say I don’t really know. I just felt very helpless because one, I don’t like to make decisions and two, I suck at handling complicated situations. But anyway, at this very moment, Aaron and I are good, relationships with my own family’s cool and so are the relationship with my working colleagues. What’s left complicated I wonder .. Is there any in the first place?

Going off to the airport in about an hour’s time.

Random ramblings. Heat came. Peace out.

P/S: Relevant pictures will be up on this entry on Sunday. Just realize I don't really like my blog to be too wordy.

Wednesday, October 27, 2010 - Bethany Floral Chiffon Dress is an online store which is an international fashion label which arrived in Malaysia not too long ago.

So, I hereby present, my first pick: BETHANY FLORAL CHIFFON DRESS.

(click on the link to view this dress in their online store)

Full body shot, taken at the Ecoba Grand Launch Party.

Honestly speaking, I had a tough time deciding on which to pick. I asked many people for opinions and critics on my shortlisted items (I had like more than ten, seriously) and one by one helped by adding more items to the list omg lol.

When I finally came down to this dress, I was a lil concerned. On the sizes and of course, the quality and so on. Rumours constantly fly about the quality of online shopping products and how the size of the items differ from what they looked so that was when I got a lil skeptical.

But what I can say about the items from this online boutique is .. I was impressed. Impressed by the quality of the material and the finishing details. The only thing I need to be careful of was the size, because size M fits me perfectly while I initially thought I was size S. Lucky me.

Another full shot of myself, elite photographer Andy Kho and Sarah Low.

The back of the dress.

A close-up shot. Note how the details of the dress, especially the ruffled part and elasticised waist, was impressively done.

And last but not least, a picture with my favourite photographer Andy Kho. All pictures are credited to him and his skill and his huge-ass camera :)

Do not hesitate to give this store a try, because I was honestly impressed by it. Plus, their shipping rate is as low as $ 7.95! Worth it, if you ask me :)

Another great deal offered by is that all readers are entitled to a whopping 15% discount simply by using the offer code CCBLOG15.

Happy shopping! Loves ~

Kissaten @ Jaya One

"Next week's food review's gonna be a Kissaten. They have very interesting menu. You wouldn't wanna miss that."

The moment he said that, expectations were set. And I was far from being disappointed, be it the quantity, quality or variety.

It was the largest group gathering we had thus far - A total of 8 food reviewers including Timmo and photographer AndyKho.

I had bitter gourd + cucumber fresh juice (RM 8.90). I've always hated bitter gourd but I tend to be a lil adventurous once in a while. It didn't taste that bad. The cucumber actually covered the strong bitter taste of the bitter gourd so it's all good.

Will I come back for this? Yes, definitely.

Random pic of Sarah & I. Rooting for her to be in FHM GND 2011/12 yo!

The salmon salad (RM 18.90) was served in a relatively large portion with generous helpings of fresh salmon and greens.

Next came everyone's favourite - Sahshimi Moriawase (RM 68.90). I'm not an expert when it comes to dish like this because I started appreciating them only recently but here's my verdict.

Salmon sahshimi - Very fresh
The folded orange thingy on the lower right of the plate - SUPERB!
The whitish thingy on the top right of the plate (which I assume it was scallops) - Yummy!
Fresh prawns - I feel a bit geli eating them :|

Will I come back for this? Not really, unless I have someone who's willing to finish the prawns.

Tsukune Teriyaki With Eggyolk Sauce (RM 8.90) is a MUST-TRY seriously. Minced pork in satay sticks covered with raw eggyolk and teriyaki sauce. Hint: Smashed the yolk and dip it before eating it.

It's far from gross.

Will I come back for this? DEFINITELY!

Crunchy Stewed Pork Slice (RM 6.90) is filled with nothing but pork and COLLAGEN omgggg! Most of us girls were so grossed out by the look of it we didn't really dare to touch it so guess who wiped it clean?

Who was the last person in the group who actually needed collagen wth!

Will I come back for this? Now that I know it's rich in collagen? OF COURSE! -_-"

Teppan Mushroom Burger Steak (RM 18.90) is actually pretty similar to the dish above. Similar raw ingredients (just the meat), different portion and size and sides. A recommended dish as well!

The pork steak is far from tough and rubbery or any of that sort.

Will I come back for this? DEFINITELY!

Tonkotsu Ramen (RM 16.90) was HUGE we couldn't finish it. Oh wait, Timmo did. He's always the 'rubbish bin' of the group =P

It was alright, nothing spectacular. Tasted like maggie mee after a few mouthfuls.

Will I come back for this? Nope.

Salmon Steak (RM 17.90)

I'm a big fish eater so .. what more can I say? I think I gobbled more than half of the salmon.

Mushroom Onsen Tamago Spaghetti (RM 14.90).

Me is also a huge pasta fan so I was busy eating this as well. Hehehe.

Salmon Steak Spaghetti (RM 19.90).

A combination of my two favourites!! Can't get enough of them ~

Seafood Spaghetti With Tomato Sauce (RM 17.90).

More spaghetti and SEAFOOD for me to savour. Yum yummm ~

Will I come back for the salmon and/or spaghetti? Yes, I will :)

Teriyaki Chicken Onsen Tamago (RM 23.90) is one interesting dish none of us had came across. The yolk in the middle was supposed to be smashed and spread on the pizza but guess what, we took one slice each and had the yolk separately. HAHA.

So, now u know. Don't repeat our blunder lol.

Will I come back for this? Hmm .. Maybe not. The menu is too interesting this kinda dropped to the bottom of the list.

With Stephinie, gorgeous events emcee/host.

Chantelle's contesting for Miss International 2010 in a few days' time. All the best babe! Make Malaysia proud xoxo.

Ok, moving on to desserts:

Azuki Pancake (RM 4.90).

It was alright. Simple dish. Didn't stand out.

Yaki Gyoza (RM 8.90)

No comments on this. Very normal.

Top: Choco Pudding (RM 6.90)
Bottom: Cheese Cake (RM 6.90)

Being a die-hard chocolate fan (who gets acne from it T.T), no prize for guessing which is my favourite. The pudding tasted like a big block of soft chocolate wahhh seriously sinful can die.

I didn't touch the cheese cake cause I'm not a fan of dairy products.

Cheese Cake With Apple or Banana Filling I'm not sure which (RM 6.90)
Pumpkin Crean with Haagen Daaz Vanilla Ice cream (RM 12.90)
Caramel Pudding (RM 4.90)

I don't take cheese cake so the top one's out. The Caramel Pudding's a lil too sweet and the Pumpkin Cream was alright. The ice cream saved it hehe.

Group pic with the creative chef who plays mix-and-match in creating his wide variety of menu.

Upon leaving.

Overall verdict: Will definitely come back for more. Will drag Aaron there also although he doesn't like fusion :D

The U-Turn

I can now confirm I had good friends except those who bitched and backstabbed me. I might forgive but I won't forget hmph because they showed concern over my FB status update " I'm in a huge mess .. :( "

Yes, I was, or rather, still am indeed in a huge mess. This cannot be settled just like that. I need time.

It's like. I was moving in the right path all along. Then for some reasons, I got distracted and did not realize I took a detour. Now I'm moving forward, in the wrong direction.

I know what I need to do. I need to take a detour and make a U-turn to get back on track. But I think the right thing to do now is to continue moving in this misleading direction until at one point, I make a U-turn.

The challenge here is not the fact that I need to get back on track, because I obviously know I have to, but the toughest, most challenging part is to determine when to take this U-turn before I get myself into deeper shit.

Chinoz on the Park, KLCC

Monday lunch at Chinoz on the Park to suppress the Monday blues.

This is gonna be a short post on my 'fine dining super expensive' lunch today.

I ordered the 2-course set: Salad and Oysters and Pan Fried Sole Fish which comes with an iced tea (RM 39+), while he ordered the Black Cod Fish & Chips (RM 40+) and Butter Fish Sashimi (RM 30+).

Sorry I couldn't remember the exact price, plus their website is now under construction -_-"

Top: Butter Fish Sashimi
Bottom: Salad & Oysters

The salad was great; amount of olive oil sprinkled on it was just right and the oven-baked tomatoes were yummy. The oysters weren't too bad but nothing to shout about.

The butter fish sashimi was awesome! It was my first time tasting it and I liked it! Too bad I cannot take too much or I'll get stomach upset.

Jon, Tzeling. Jom Brunei! :)

Everything about this dish was in my good books. I finished the potatoes even though I'm not a fan of them. Well done.

Either that or I'm biased since I'm a fish person :)

I didn't try this so I don't know but my friend said it was good so .. it was good! :)

Thanks for lunch :)

Awaiting more images before doing a full write-up on the first Sunday of the month. Too bad it wasn't sunny or the pictures would turn out even better :(

7aste Monte Carlo - The Event

This was one of the events I actually kind of looked forward to, thanks to Emily's blog entry on the 7aste event in Penang.

But it was quite a disappointment. Probably because I was dead tired by the end of my working week and .. also the crowd my goodness. I was squashed and pushed the minute I stepped in :|

And the performances and event flow .. weren't spectacular. In fact, I thought the performances were kind of out of place :/

The entrance

Sleek ~

With FHM GND 2010 finalist Michelle, Tim (top) and Andy Kho.

As we stepped inside. Just look at the crowd -_-"

Another FHM GND 2010 finalist, Cyrstal

The soon-to-be Datuk. LoL.

Upon leaving. With Desmond & Tim.

And finally, with the celebrity dude behind the camera - Andy Kho.

This event is very 'pink'. I like :)
