Ecoba Restaurant & Bar is one of the highly recommended hangout spots after a long day at work staring at computer screens and getting screwed by your superior and superior's superior, etc. Guys and girls alike would crowd the place to grab some bites, drink, chill and
Positive reviews so far on the ambiance and experience there but with the launching of their new menu this year, let's see how it fared at being a dining outlet.
One of Ecoba's partners, Kean was kind to host the Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers to review their new menu with the expectation to improve on whatever that was lacking. Joining us this time were guest bloggers Pauline, Cindy Tey, Ivone and Kelly.
We had a few starters to tease our empty stomach. First up: Kerabu Seafood Nusantara (RM 23). I'm not a fan of kerabus but this light, a tad sour dish was tasty enough to get me going for more. I exceptionally love the huge fresh prawns!
The Crispy Calamari Salad (RM 20) was served with wasabi yoghurt dressing - A somewhat awesome add-on to the dish.
Thai Fried Rice (RM 15) served with chicken and huge fresh prawns. The highlight of this dish was Ecoba's special sambal, which was constantly requested for more. Guess I won't have to elaborate on how good it is.
Ecoba Triple Decker Sandwich (RM 20), A charcoal bread sandwich served with a generous portion of greens, layers of Cheddar cheese and smoked chicken breast. Not a bad dish, except for the bread which was a lil hard.
The Spaghetti Arrabiata (RM 18) was a rather interesting pasta dish. It is spicy yet somewhat addictive. Couldn't get my hands off it lol. Very different from the pasta dish I usually had.
I have the same critic on this Smoked Salmon Sandwich (RM 22) - The bread was a lil tough. Other than that, it's a healthy dish you might wanna try!
The Ecoba Surf n' Turf (RM 55) is a dish for those who couldn't decide to go for meat or seafood. This dish comprises of king prawns, salmon fillet, lamb cutlets, and fillet mignon all grilled and served with butter lemon sauce. A hearty meal. Order this if you think you can eat a cow, otherwise, share!
Grain Fed Ribeye Steak (RM 88) was meant for 2 person. I vote this to be the best dish of the lot. The meat so was tender it almost melted in my mouth. The picture on the side was actually served in double the actual serving to accommodate all the hungry
Creme Brulee (RM 8). A dessert where no one could resist. I'm not a fan of it cause I'm a lil against dairy stuff. Doesn't seem too bad from the responses I got.
Crispy Mango (RM 8) - Mango fillings in popiah style. I thought it tasted like banana :|
Now, moving on to the drinks. Ecoba introduced a few new drinks to its existing wide range of drinks. Nicole and I gave the ABSOLUT Electric a try. It was okay .. one of the better ones among the rest.
Pineapple and Mint Margarita
Blue Banana. This tasted like medicine :|
Mojito Apple. This is good.
Watermelon Mojito. A refreshing drink.
High Voltage (Lychee Shooters). Not bad. Love the lychee.
Part of the food reviewers.
Feel free to give this outlet a try. This is not their best as the new menu need some improvements no doubt but we gave our feedbacks and knowing them, they would do whatever it takes to improve them.
