Of Yong Tau Fu, Nasi Lemak 2.0, Phuture and Seafood!

He turned a year older on the 25th of September.

On my side, it was a relatively simple one. Didn't manage to get a place for two at S'mores because it was fully booked :( It was partly my fault for calling in just a day before instead of a week sighs so we left for late lunch at Ipoh Yong Tau Foo at Jalan Ipoh, KL (blog write-up on this soon!) before heading home for a good rest. One night of partying really killed us.

Both of us were so blur we forgot we bought Nasi Lemak 2.0 movie tickets at Tropicana City Mall instead of One Utama. We failed to realize this till he started to wonder why Hall 4 wasn't opened when it was already 5 minutes before time! Imagine the adrenaline when we rushed to TCM, with him cursing every driver who slowed him down lol.

Nasi Lemak 2.0 was entertaining enough, artfully directed with a tinge of patriotism, definitely far above the standards of our local movies thus far. With infamous Namewee (Hero Huang) and songbird Karen Kong (Xiao K) as the lead, the duo exerted ridiculous humour every now and then. I enjoyed the plot too, although I felt that could be further improved. The famous violinist, Dennis Lau played the supporting lead in Nasi Lemak 2.0 as the cold, mean Lan Qiao, which, was pretty convincing. Head over to the cinemas and catch this movie before it was banned (as what the rumours claimed) but do not have expectations comparable to that you have on Transformers or you'll leave the cinema feeling utterly disappointed!

And that, plus the partying at Phuture, was more or less how we celebrated his "28th" birthday! :)

His friends - Dave Ewing and Daren Yoon - organized dinner and karaoke session at Pantai Seafood and Red Box @ The Curve, respectively. Didn't join the karaoke session because I had to drag myself up at 5.30 in the morning to catch a flight to Miri :(

I postponed our dinner at S'mores to the following weekend, so stay tuned to find out how awesome their wagyu beef steak is! I can't waittt :)
